The “European Foundation for Quality in Blended Learning” (EFQBL) was founded by the consortium members of the Grundtvig Multilateral Project 539717-LLP-2013-1-IT-Grundtvig-GMP “Quality in Blended Learning” as a means of dissemination. The association has eight people as teaching and research stuff performing the courses of the association, mainly in C-VET training, Adult Education and teachers/trainers training).
It is a non-profit association with an increasing number of members. The heads of the association are specialists in TEL (former eLearning), Distance Learning and Blended Learning.
The scope of the organisation covers research work (mainly in new teaching methods) and in the promotion and dissemination of the results of the Quality in Blended Learning Project and the transfer to other fields of education, mainly VET education and training. The association is intensive connected with similar institutions and started to establish a network of Blended Learning specialists in Europe.
The association’s focus is on modern teaching methods. Members of the EFQBL developed a special method for teaching in technology enhanced teaching and learning, which was refined and optimized in the last year. The researchers of the association work in the further development of Blended Learning with a specific focus on learner’s needs and quality enhance frameworks. The technicians of the EFQBL maintain several eLearning servers. The pedagogical head of the association is a graduated education system developer and graduated as aquality manager for educational systems.
The association is part of a loose network of people and associations working in the field of quality management in TEL & TET /technology Enhanced Teaching & Training) and Blended Learning.
Besides that, social networks are used for presentations and promotion/dissemination of research results. The association also has a graduated quality manager for educational systems who is responsible for the quality management inside the association; he’s also involved as a researcher in projects and teaching.
